Brian Freeman, a Minnesota author of psychological thrillers, read the first chapter of his newest Jonathan Stride series book, Alter Ego, during a public book signing held on Wednesday evening at Fulda City Hall.
Freeman commented that he had been in Fulda in 2010 as a part of a tour through several southwest Minnesota libraries. “It was from that tour that I discovered the setting for my seventh novel, Spilled Blood,” Freeman stated.
That book went on to win the International Thriller Writers Awards for the for Best Hardcover Novel. “And we owe that honor to the libraries of southwest Minnesota,” Freeman said, grinning.
Freeman shared that many of his writing ideas come from places that he visits. For example, he and his wife, Marcia were driving along Interstate I-90 a few years ago when Brian saw the signs for Frost and Easton, Minnesota. “That’s where the name Frost Easton came from. Frost is a homicide detective in The Voice Inside and The Night Bird,” Freeman said.
